BioJonathan Bauerfeld is a New York based musical theater composer, orchestrator, music director, and certified vocal coach. He has worked as a member of team music on shows such as HAMILTON, KING KONG, and THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR. As a composer, Bauerfeld has been working with his collaborator Casey Kendall for more than 7 years. Their most recent original musical, THE JURY, recently premiered as an Equity Showcase Production at the A.R.T. Gural Theatre in NYC. Their two shows, LIMBO: The Twelve, (now titled THE JURY) and LEGACY: The Book of Names first premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 and 2019 to 4 and 5 star reviews. Bauerfeld penned the score for SHORT SHAKESPEARE! THE COMEDY OF ERRORS at the Tony recognized Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and his 10 minute musical BOOK LOVERS with Talaura Harms - available to license in two languages with MTI - has been produced many times around the world.
As an orchestrator, his work has been heard across New York and beyond, including Off-Broadway, NYMF, the Actors Fund Gala, The Green Room 42, and Symphony Space. He has worked with many of the top talents in the industry, including Alex Lacamoire, Christopher Jahnke, August Eriksmoen, and more. Bauerfeld has Music Directed Off-Broadway, at the New Victory Theater, and for several Theaterworks USA tours. As a copyist, Bauerfeld's work can be seen on stands across the country, working for Anixter-Rice music service on several shows for Broadway, Radio City, and beyond. As a music assistant, Bauerfeld has worked for some of the most well-respected composers on Broadway, including Stephen Flaherty, Pasek and Paul, Andrew Lippa, Scott Frankel, and more.
